What to see in Monterosso

A small jewel overlooking the sea

Written by Mariano Cheli

From Riomaggiore to Monterosso: an exciting walk along a strip of land declared ” World Heritage Site” by UNESCO. We are in the Cinque Terre in Liguria and Monterosso is the spearhead of the small villages that overlook the crystalline Ligurian Sea.

Terraces that offer breathtaking views and incredible slopes that descend from the mountain to the sea: this and much more to see in a truly incredible territory.

Monterosso is located in the middle of a natural basin overlooking a small and spectacular inlet to the east of Punta Mesco. A small town that has kept intact its fascinating characteristics of a medieval village.

All around the small village, lemon trees, vines and olive trees, which run fast along the terraces of the characteristic hills and seem to end their run right in the crystal clear sea. Land of ancient history and place loved by Eugenio Montale, who loved to spend his moments of peace and relaxation right here in Monterosso and in the neighboring countries.

From teaching overseas to finding the perfect hideaway, you are only moments away from discovering the secrets and hidden gems nestled around the world, waiting to be discovered by people just like you.
